Solo Violin
Solo violin is a great choice for an intimate wedding
ceremony. A solo violin can play almost any song as
long as the piece has a memorable melody. Since there
is just one voice, the sound will not be as full as a
duo or larger ensemble but it will definitely be
beautiful.
Violin & Guitar
This acoustic duo can play almost any style of music.
An excellent choice if you have several different types
of music you want to pull together into a ceremony. The
violin, guitar duo is also able to accommodate different
sizes of events ranging from small, intimate weddings to
large gatherings and outdoor venues. The duo can play
without any amplification but when electricity is
available, using amplification enhances the sound
quality. Vocals may also be available with this duo as
several of our instrumentalists are also excellent
vocalists.
Violin, Guitar & Cello
One of our most popular ensemble choices. This trio
offers the classical element of two stringed instruments
playing together with the added versatility and energy
of the guitar. Our violinists & cellists love to play
other styles of music besides classical including Celtic
(Irish), Jazz, Pop and more. As with the Violin &
Guitar duo, the trio can play unamplified or with
amplification depending on the needs of the venue.
Vocals are also typically included as an option.
String Trio & Quartet (2 Violins & Cello or 2 Violins,
Viola & Cello)
The classic wedding ensemble….with a twist! Our
string trio and quartet repertoire includes all of the
standard classical wedding music plus the most extensive
list of pop and rock music arranged for strings
available in Oregon. This music has been arranged
specifically for Effesenden Music’s string trio and
quartet by our musicians with unique weddings and events
in mind. Ask us for a list of our current repertoire.
We have many brides and grooms who choose to create a
customized program of music that we arrange just for
their day.

Bass
Such a unique, beautiful sound is created by this
combination of instruments. The music performed can
range from very traditional pieces like Canon in D on
out to folk, pop, jazz, and rock. This is a great fit
for brides and grooms looking for something a little bit
different that will sound amazing. Able to perform with
or without amplification.
Piano & Violin (plus optional
add in of Cello and Bass…)
Classical, Jazz, and more. The duo is similar to
Violin & Guitar. We have an excellent keyboard
available if there is no piano at the venue.
Alternatively we can assist you in arranging for the
rental of a beautiful baby grand piano. You will be
surprised how inexpensive it really is and what a
decadent look to have a Steinway placed on the patio
overlooking an expansive vineyard or other setting. The
duo is also a very popular choice for weddings taking
place in churches and cathedrals. We are more than
happy to accompany your guest vocalist in addition to
being able to add our own vocals should you be
interested.
Catholic Nuptial Mass Ceremony
Add the vocal talents of the incomparable Bethany
Cibolski to one of the above ensembles to perform for
your Catholic ceremony. It is critical for a Catholic
mass wedding to have musicians who understand how the
flow of this sacred ceremony works. We have performed
for many high profile weddings of this nature and are
excited to help you make your music reflect your style
while carefully adhering to the traditions of the
Catholic Nuptial Mass.
RECEPTION MUSIC
Jazz Trio
Violin, Bass and either Piano or Guitar. We play
classic jazz from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella
Fitzgerald and Michael Bublé, as well as Swing, Blues
and Latin. Because many of our musicians can play
several styles, you may be able to use the same
musicians for your ceremony as your cocktail hour and
dinner- saving time and money!
Jazz Quartet
Add drums to our jazz trio for a fully authentic jazz
sound. We work with some of the best jazz drummers in
Portland who will bring energy without ever being too
loud.
Irish Trio
Violin, Bass & Guitar with Vocals. Fast fiddle
music and beautiful ballads. There is no better choice
for toe-tapping energy than Irish music!
Irish Quartet
Add a second fiddle or percussion to the above for
an even more energetic sound.
Country & Bluegrass Band
Our 4 and 5 piece country band including fiddle,
vocals, guitar, bass and drums covers country and
bluegrass music with style. Current repertoire includes
music by Alabama, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Nickel Creek,
Alison Krauss, Garth Brooks and more. We would love to
learn your favorite country song!
Eclectic Folk/Rock/Jazz
Our versatile musicians can combine styles to create
a really fun, eclectic mix of music for your day.
Instrumentation is determined by the songs you choose
and can flex from 2 to 6 musicians.

meeting: Whether you have your music already
decided and just need some help deciding on
instrumentation or you know what vibe you want to create
and need some inspiration for songs to fit that mood, we
can assist you in fine tuning the details.
Sound System: Some instruments don’t require
amplification at all but for those that do, we
always come prepared to make our music sound its best.
We have several different sound systems depending on the
size and type of venue.
DJ Service: Our sound
equipment can easily accommodate recorded music for
dancing and if we are already playing at your wedding,
our musicians are more than happy to facilitate all of
your music. Don’t feel like you have to choose between
recorded and live music. We can help you have both!
Most brides and grooms aren’t looking for a stand up
comedian-just someone to MC the event and keep the music
coming. With this option, we can also assist with sound
equipment such as microphones for toasts etc.
