Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the
prerequisites for studying violin with Wendy Goodwin?
A: Wendy accepts all levels of students from beginner to
advanced. The student must be willing to meet practice
goals (which will be individually tailored.)
Q: I am an amateur adult
violinist. What can I expect from violin lessons with
Wendy Goodwin?
A: To benefit the most out of violin lessons as an adult, it
is very important that the student have specific goals in
mind--be that to learn to improvise, to be able to get
better tone in order to participate in a church music
ensemble, or to polish a specific skill such as vibrato and
shifting. Wendy listens carefully with the intent of
helping the adult student see success.
Q; Will there
be performance opportunities?
A: The studio holds recitals 2 to 3 times a year where
students have the opportunity to share what they have
learned in a supportive environment. Wendy also strongly
encourages students to pursue extracurricular performance
opportunities ranging from youth orchestras to solo ensemble
to church groups. Many people have stage fright when it
comes to playing alone in public. The best way to cure the
jitters is by building a memory bank of positive performance
experiences! |
